The Machine Model (MM) serves as an ESD model designed to replicate abrupt discharge incidents resulting from equipment contact and unplugged sockets during various tests such as functional testing, burn-in, and reliability testing. The stress current levels in the MM model are notably higher compared to those in the HBM model. At 200 V MM stress levels, the peak current reaches 3.5 Amps, equivalent to a 4kV HBM ESD stress pulse. Unless specifically demanded by customers, MM stress is provided solely for informational purposes. The MM model has been superseded by more precise CDM and HBM models.
